Garance began her blog in 2006. As an illustrator, she was frustrated by the commissioned work she was receiving and by the lack of contact with readers. Garance’s motivation for her blog was as to do something “more free and more spontaneous.” In the beginning she started by publishing a few illustrations but with no response. However, when she added text, the comments started rolling in. She found great enjoyment in writing little snapshots of her life. Garance mostly talked about fashion which has been a passion of hers ever since she was a child. The transformation of “Une Fille Comme Moi” from art diary to a style blog came when she realized that the majority of her most succesfull posts were about fashion.
Recently Garance has also added some street-style pictures to her blog. She shoots them in the street or around the shows during the fashion weeks and she has said that it is a way for her to further express what she likes in fashion.
Originally from Corsica, Garance currently lives and works in Paris and continues to write and post personal monologues accompanied by her own illustrations and photographs. She travels around the world and attends the majority of fashion shows where she says she finds her inspiration.
In addition to updating her blog on an almost daily basis, Garance also works as a consultant and photographer for fashion magazines such as French Vogue.
